The Genetic Neuroengineering Group was established in September 2013 with seed funding from the McGovern Institute for Brain Research, the Picower Center for Learning and Memory, and the MIT Department of Brain and Cognitive Sciences, with additional subsequent funding from the Simons Center for the Social Brain. It is led by Dr. Ian Wickersham. It is located in MIT building 46, the Brain and Cognitive Sciences Complex.
